Established in 1972, the University of Limerick is situated in Limerick, Ireland. The University is ‘special' in the sense that it is one of the few Universities in Ireland that has taken up the American approach to imparting education. To cite an example, it has introduced the grade-point-average method, a method favored by American Universities, in assessing its students.

Scholarships
Advanced Scholars Program: 20 scholarships are offered by the University under this Program. The scholarships target the University's Undergraduate students who must receive a First Class in their Honours program (QCA 3.4) to be eligible for this award. Students do not have to pay their course charges for the first year. They are awarded a grant of €1270 for the first year.
