Tipperary Institute is one of the newer third-level institutions in Ireland, which has a fresh approach to learning and research. The Tipperary Institute has two campuses based in Clonmel and Thurles Co.
The Institute has three departments:
- ICT Department
- Business Department
- SRD Department
The Business Department offers courses to the graduates by incorporating traditional business modules like marketing,accountancy,management,economics,law and financial management.
The ICT Department offers degree and higher certificate programmes in consultation with Irish companies from the ICT sector.
The SRD Department's courses incorporate subjects which deal with social, environmental and business studies which help to work on the complex areas of rural development.
The Tipperary Institute has a library which can be accessed by all the students of the institute.The institute also has wide information resources which range to electronic resources.
Accommodation facilities are available at both the campuses of the institute.

Scholarships are granted to the students of the Tipperary Institute on the basis of academic excellence.Grants are also provided to students in need of financial assistance or to students with disabilities.
