From 1st January 2006, St Angela's College in Sligo has become a college of Galway NUI in lieu of an agreement between the College and University. The College has a tradition of almost 400 years and believes in the correct syntheisis of Christian values and academic excellence. Although the College was founded as a Training College for Teachers for Home Economics, the College has extended its boundaries and now the College offers undergraduate, graduate courses in Education, Food, Textiles, Fashion and Design, Nursing, Economics and Social Studies.

Residences:
The on-campus student residences are specially designed for the comfort of the students and the first year students are always accommodated within the residences.
Library:
The main library has a huge collection of books and online resources. It has 15,000 volumes and the subjects can range from Education to Religious Studies to Nursing Studies.
The College is known to have a Grants Scheme financed by the Higher Education Grants Scheme for academic careers and research work. The campus also has a counseling centre, and a health and fitness centre to help the students.
