Named after the 19th century German educator and founder of kindergarten Friedrich Froebel, the Froebel College of Education has believed in the philosophy of the German educator and initiated learning through activities and focused on the development of the individual. Established by the Dominican Congregation, this college is one of the five colleges in the Republic of Ireland recognized by the Department of Education and Science for the training and education of national teachers. The college is situated on the Sion Hill.

Undergraduate:
B.Ed Degree—this degree is jointly taught by the Department of Teacher Education in Trinity College Dublin and the teachers are allowed to take classes during their three year program. It is an integrated course and has different levels and the foundation level include subjects like English, Mathematics, Social Environment and Scientific Education, Psychology, Language etc
- HDip Primary—Higher Diploma in Primary Education
Applicants holding a primary degree from a university with a satisfactory educational qualification and competence are allowed to study in this course.

2. Certificate for Teaching Gifted or Exceptionally Talented Children
3. Masters Degree in Special Education
4. Certificate in Educational Technology
5. Understanding Challenging Behavior

Library:
The Froebel College Library has 14,500 items including books, journals, periodicals, articles, databases etc.
Research: The College is closely associated with Mus-E Program and is known to coordinate many research programs.
The College has just started a Froebel Ireland Society meant for discussions and debates on various topics.
