Dublin Institute of Technology, has a proud and strong tradition in multi-level engineering education. The Kevin Street campus has been the home of technical education for over one hundred years, and the Bolton Street campus for over ninety years.
DIT continues to launch dynamic new programs in engineering, such as in Product Design and postgraduate programs in Advanced Engineering and Computing Applications.
The Faculty has 5 different schools offering a wide range of programs in graduate and post-graduate studies:
- School of Civil & Building Services
- School of Mechanical & Transport Engineering
- School of Manufacture & Design Engineering
- School of Control Systems & Electrical Engineering
- School of Electronics & Communications Engineering
The Faculty offers undergraduate programs with honors degree, ordinary degree and higher certificate level across a wide range of engineering subjects including Electrical & Electronic Draughting, Applied Electronics, Environmental and Municipal.
DIT also offers Craft Apprenticeship Programs in many areas including:
- Aircraft Mechanics
- Vehicle Mechanics
- Electrical
- Metal Work
There are seven libraries within the Institute. DIT Library currently stocks more than 250,000 books and other items and subscribes to nearly 20,000 journal titles.
The university provides the students with awards, scholarships and grants to help them carry on their studies or research work and also as a mark of recognition.
The Student Accommodation Service is an information service provided by the Student Sports, Recreation and Support Dept. in co-operation with the Students' Union. The DIT International Student Office at DIT can provide advice for International Students on accommodation issues.
