The Faculty of Applied Arts is the largest provider of innovative, multi-disciplinary and professional-level education across the visual and performing arts and media in the country, as well as offering a wide range of educational and research programs in the fields of social science, legal studies and languages.
There are various programs which are offered at both undergraduate and postgraduate level in the different schools under the Faculty of Applied Arts:
- School of Arts, Design and Printing
- School of Languages
- School of Media
- Conservatory of Music and Drama
- School of Social Science and Legal Studies
The students are provided with many facilities that include art and design studios, multimedia, computer graphics and music technology laboratories, state-of-the-art film and television studios, dedicated journalism newsrooms, and radio broadcasting facilities.
The Faculty of Applied Arts has a vigorous program of international activities, based on established partnerships with leading European universities and research centres. There are 7 research centres related to the different fields of study in the Faculty of Applied Arts of DIT.
There are seven libraries within the Institute. DIT Library currently stocks more than 250,000 books and other items and subscribes to nearly 20,000 journal titles.
The university provides the students with awards, scholarships and grants to help them carry on their studies or research work and also as a mark of recognition.
The Student Accommodation Service is an information service provided by the Student Sports, Recreation and Support Dept. in co-operation with the Students' Union.
