The new College of Science, Engineering and Food Science consist of three Faculties –Faculty of Science, Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of food Science and Technology. These faculties are further made up of several schools, departments and institutes. The college offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate and research programmes.
Faculty of Science is made up of the following departments:
- Anatomy
- Biochemistry
- Computer Science
- Chemistry
- Geography
- Geology
- Physics
- Physiology
- Microbiology
- School of mathematical science
- Zoology, Ecology and Plant Science.
Faculty of Engineering consists of four main departments:
- Civil and Environmental Engineering
- Electrical and Electronic Engineering
- Microelectronic Engineering
- Process and Chemical Engineering
The faculty of food science and technology has the following departments:
- Food Business and Development
- Microbiology
- Food and Nutritional Sciences
- Food and Chemical Engineering
- Food Industry training Unit.
Academic Facilities
The Boole Library of the University College Cork was built up in 1983 and provides the students with adequate source of information to help them in their learning process. Scholarships, funds and other financial assistance are granted to the students of this faculty as part of the University College Cork.
Accommodation
Within the campus there are UCC Castle white Apartments, UCC Feranlea halls, UCC Victoria lodge, UCC the Spires, and UCC University hall all meant for the purpose of students accommodation.
