The College of Education, University of Limerick consists of the Department of Education, Mary Immaculate College and the Department of Education and Professional Studies, which is situated in the University's Plassey Campus. The Department of Education at Mary Immaculate College can rightfully boast of the quality of education it imparts since its inception in 1898.

Mary Immaculate College offers scholarships for its Bachelors Program in Early Childhood Care and Education
Endowments from Local Authorities are offered to students provided students fulfill the conditions of the Higher Education Grants Scheme. Gaeltacht University Scholarships and the 1916 Commemoration Scholarships are given by the Higher Education Grants Section on the basis of performance in Leaving Certificate Examinations. These scholarships are valid in Mary Immaculate College.
Facilities
The Library is well stocked with books and periodicals related to the field of Education. The Library also permits access to its electronic resources, a large section of which is devoted to the field of Education.

Some of the eateries at the University campus are the University Arena Sports Club and the Plaza Café. The latter is situated within the Library complex. Both offer tasty snacks, hamburgers and beverages at modest prices.
