The study of the language, literature, history and civilization of Celtic peoples is pursued at the University under the guidance of the Faculty of Celtic Studies of the National University of Ireland, Galway which comprises the School of Irish and the Departments of Archaeology and History. These constituent departments represent the core disciplines of the Faculty.

There are some scholarships given to the students by the university as a mark of their achievement.
