On of the youngest universities in Germany, University of Koblenz-Landau was established in 1990.It was transformed from a teachers' training college. Since then the number of students in the university has increased considerably. The structure of the university is worth a mention as Koblenz and Landau are the two locations for research, teaching and further education. The president's office is in Mainz. The University stresses on further education and offers wide array of graduate programmes and various other courses in department of Education, Humanities and Natural Science. Many interdisciplinary research projects are also on the offer by the university. Koblenz campus offers courses in Education, Philology, Natural Sciences and Computer Science. Landau campus also offers similar courses with the exception of Computer Science, which is substituted by Psychology.
The library of University of Koblenz-Landau is highly developed. Along with conventional printed books, the library is a storehouse of resources in the electronic media.

Accommodation is available on-campus in single room dormitory on the Landau campus. Good off-campus accommodation facilities are available in close proximity to the university.
The University of Koblenz-Landau itself does not offer any scholarships to the students.
