The University of Constance gives the unique feeling of studying in a true international campus university to its students. It is probably because of its amazing location, as Austria in one of the most beautiful regions of Germany. Over 10.000 students studying from altogether 92 countries are admitted in this university. Over 130 university connections with European partner universities and many exchange programs world-wide ensure for a network around the globe.
The academic year is divided into two semesters and they are the winter semester and the summer semester. The establishment of the University of Konstanz in 1966 marked the arrival of a new distinctive model within the ensemble of German universities. It represented a modern prototype for smaller, leaner and more compact universities. The research-oriented teaching at the University of Konstanz is remarkable.

Library:
The students are privileged to have access to many libraries like the Wessenberg Library, 16bit Library in University of Konstanz, Holger Friese 16bit Library and the Digital Library. Apart from the books, the library supplies journals, periodicals, electronic databases to help the students immensely.
Accommodation:
Studentwerk, the local Student's Council offers 1800 rooms in 11 student residences. The students can either share an apartment or they can choose a single apartment. On arriving at the University the students are provided with temporary accommodation in Konstanz Youth Hostel or the Youth Hostel Don Bosco.
The students find the correct synthesis of education and co-curricular activities. Various sports clubs, theatres, choirs help the students to relax and help them to pursue interests other than studies.
Scholarships:
The students in the doctoral program are given grants and scholarships. They are provided with a number of options depending on their merit and research projects. The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), German Foundation Index Donor's association for the Promotion of Science and Humanities are some of the organizations who award scholarships to the students.
