The University of Bremen founded in 1999 is a private, independent university, registered as a not-for-profit organization.

The fees structure of the institute
- Undergraduate students: 15,000 euros / year
- Graduate students: 20,000 euros / year
The University is the home to three residential colleges;
- Alfried Krupp College
- Mercator College
- College lll
The colleges on campus provide students with living and working accommodation.
All undergraduate students reside in residential colleges located on the university campus.30 single apartments are reserved for graduate students who would like to stay on campus.
There are ample financial supports for the students visiting the University
- University's Undergraduate Financial Aid Program as well as Undergraduate Tuition Postponement Management are administered by the Office of Student Financial Services to provide financial support.
- The University offers financial assistance by granting a restricted number of stipends to graduate students, both on the Master and on the PhD level which contributes towards tuition and living expenses and limited to a period of three to five academic years. In addition to these stipends, graduate financial assistance may also consist of Research Associate and Teaching Assistant positions.
The International University Bremen also awards generous scholarships to motivated, socially engaged, excellent academic performers from around the globe who are outstanding representatives of the world area from which they come.
