The Mining Academy in Berlin (1770) and the Royal Technical College of Berlin established in 1879 (Building Academy and Vocational Academy) merged together in 1916 to form the University. In 1946 the university was re-established as the Technical University of Berlin. The main campus is located in Charlottenburg, situated outside the city boundaries. The other campuses are located in different parts of Berlin.
Faculties
The university courses include several Bachelors and the Master Degrees
divided under several faculties or departments:

- Civil Engineering and Applied Geosciences

Libraries and Resources
The Main Library of the University consists of general academic literature, textbooks and selected research materials in form of books, databases, electronic journals etc. Apart from the Main Library all the departments have their individual Department Libraries comprising information and materials accordingly.
Other services include several Student Services (guidance and psychological counseling, International students' counseling, Career counseling etc.), Medical Service, Social Service and all.
Accommodation
There are several student residence halls in the city. Majority of the student's population prefer to live in rented rooms or shared apartments. The Accommodation Service of the ‘studentenwerk' offers help to find suitable accommodations.
