Kassel University was established in 1971 in the state of Hessen. During just twenty years of its performance, the University has earned a reputation for itself which is reflected by the fact that it attracts almost 16,500 from all parts of the world. It has campuses in Kassel, Witzenhausen and Frankenhausen.

Research
Research activities in the University are conducted in fields such as agriculture, architecture, biology, art history, education, electrical engineering, geography, English language and literature, music, history, protestant theology, physics, physiology and many more. The Doctorate degree can be obtained in subjects like Philosophy, Economics and Social Science, Natural Science, Engineering, agricultural Sciences.
Accommodation
Students can stay either in the halls of residence most of which are situated within the University campus itself, or can opt for private sector accommodation. The halls of residence at Kassel and Witzenhausen have nearly 1000 rooms to accommodate adequate number of students. International students can also stay in these halls of residence or can go for rental flats.
Other facilities
Students have open access to the library which provides all the required information. There are also Computer centre and Media centre. For the recreation of the students, the University organizes sports and other cultural events from time to time.
