Brandenburg Technical University was established in 1991 and it is the only University providing technical knowledge in Brandenburg. It is situated in Cottbus, which is known as the city of culture.
Faculties
Brandenburg Technical University has four specific Universities. They are:-
1. Faculty of Mathematics, Natural Science and Computer Science
2. faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering, and Urban Planning
3. Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Industrial Engineering
4. Faculty of Environmental Sciences and Process Engineering.
Brandenburg University has come up with a Graduate School whose curriculum consists of cross faculties and cross disciplines.
Research
The Research centre Landscape Development and Mining Landscape is a very crucial aspect of the University. This research centre coordinated different research projects of inter related research areas. It conducts both fundamental and applied research. The research activities of this University are financial supported not only by DFG, German Federal Ministry of Education and Research and also local and national mining companies
Scholarships
Financially supporting the students is a very important objective of this institute. Students receive funds under the federal educational support law. Besides a large number of scholarships are available from foundation such as Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes, Konrad Adenauer Stiftung and Friedrich Ebert Stiftung.
Library
Students of this university are blessed with a range of facilities which has been designed keeping in mind the requirement of the students. University library provides all the information that the students seek for, from its rich collection of books, article and periodicals. The library has also adopted modern technologies.
Facilities
The University has Computing centre, Multimedia centre, and University data processing centre and A Foreign language centre to cater to the language problem of the foreign students. There are also architecture workshops and joint labs.
