The Université de Toulouse 1 is located in the heart of the city of Toulouse. The history of the Université de Toulouse 1 dates back to 1229. Today it enrolls more than 17,000 students, more than 15% of whom are foreign nationals coming from all of the five continents.
The university offers a long list of national diplomas and university degrees in the social sciences, law, economics, political science, humanities, management, computer science, and related fields.

Three doctoral programs bring together the university's DEA programs, research teams affiliated with a research organization (CNRS), and academic support teams. The university administers some 20 laboratories and research centers, some of which are internationally renowned. The university's several accredited legal research teams have been organized into an institute.
The students enjoy library services. There are 5 Libraries operating under the university.
