A multidisciplinary institution, Universite Paris 11 Paris Sud,was established in 1970.
The University offers more than 200 state-recognized diplomas in the following disciplines :

- Sports
Apart from the five faculties, the university has three polytechnics and one engineering school. The university also hosts 127 high-level research laboratories.
