The Universite de La Rochelle was established in 1993. It is otherwise a comprehensive university, apart from the fact that it does not have the provision for Programs in Health or Professional Programs. The University has a strong international reputation. Currently, it offers 57 national diploma programs and consists of three faculties and a University Institute of Technology. Around 7000 students are enrolled at this University at present, 10% of them being International students from 70 different countries.
