The Universite de La Reunion was established in 1970 as the Centre Universitaire de La Reunion with the faculties of Law, Letters and Science. It attained the status of a university in 1982. Today the University offers 112 national diploma programs with more than 11,500 students, 4% of them being International students, coming from 41 different countries.

The Universite de La Reunion is located in four sites, two in Saint-Denis, one each in Saint-Pierre and Le Tampon. The main campus is located in Moufia Quarter of the city of Saint-Denis.

The University provides accommodation to the International students. All issues regarding accommodation are handled by the Regional Center of University and School Works. Other accommodation options are privately rented houses and hotels.
Scholarships :
There is a possibility of obtaining financial assistance regarding accommodation for the International students under the Personalized Housing Allowance sceme.
