The Universite de Marne-La-Vallee or the University of Marne-The-Valley (UMLV) was established in 1991 and is situated at a distance of 9 miles to the east of Paris in Descartes City. High quality teaching in hardcore academic subjects as well as in vocational courses coupled with emphasis on hands-on-practice constitute the quintessence of UMLV's tutoring programs.

Facilities
The Library resembles a French museum. It not only contains current books and journals pertaining to the subjects taught at the University but also maintains archives of old books and manuscripts which take students back in time to the era of Louis the XIV and the excesses of the French revolution, etc.
The University of Marne-The-Valley offers counseling services to its students to alleviate their personal, family or academic related problems.
The University offers advice to its students regarding accommodation facilities encompassing the University. Students may find accommodation in shared apartments or may live with French families as paying guests.
