The IECS, "Institut d'Enseignement Commercial Supérieur", was created in 1919 by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) of Strasbourg and is both a member of the prestigious Conference des Grandes Ecole, and part of the Robert Schuman University.
The IESC Strasbourg offers:
- A three-year business school course of study (diploma of international training in management) and
- Diplomas 2ème et 3ème cycle -2nd & 3rd cycles- (university diplomas, DESS and DEA). The IECS has been granted an ISO 9001 certification (version 2000 in April 2004).
The IECS has been given extraordinary tools within the strict framework of the grandes ecoles, and is part of advanced research work done in economics and management.
The PEGE has a doctoral program that includes:
- 3 research labs,
- A trading room and
- 5 subject areas for investigation.
IECS has an advanced intranet system, which gives students rapid access to all practical information, numerous tools and online services. There are many services that can be used by students: self-service computer language labs, unlimited internet access, use of the largest management and economics library in Eastern France (situated at PEGE) and many student associations.
The School has taken much effort to provide housing, dining facilities and student associations to create the most comfortable and best student life possible.
The school has become a center for excellence in establishing curricula integrated for double European diplômes within the Hermés network, which it created in 1997. The network includes nine universities in seven countries.
Every year IECS welcomes some 150 foreign students and 20 teacher researchers, underscoring the school's firm commitment to an international.
