L'Institut Supérieur de Technologie et Management (ISTM) was founded in 1995 by the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry. It is a business school for technology which attracts nearly 15,000 students from all parts of the world. The School is situated in the centre of Cité Descartes. The institute is a proud member of the 'Conférence des Grandes Ecoles.
Programmes
Three specific fields of education and training are available for the students. They are:
- Management and Biotechnology/Bioindustry
- Management and Computer Science/ Digital Communication
- Management and Advanced Materials/Integrated Engineering.
These study areas help the students to get suitable jobs in agribusiness, health, electronics, telecommunication, computer science, and manufacturing sectors. Internship, assignments and projects are important aspects of these programms.
After five years of post-baccalaureate study, ISTM awards diploma which is recognized by French ministry of education.
Research activities
Research activities are given top most priority in ISTM. All the research programmes mainly deals with the effects of technology transformations for the company environment and resultant effect of these transformations on management of the technologically innovative company. It has close research partnership with Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales.
Accommodation
ISTM is surrounded by numerous student residence within convenient distance meant for accommodating the students. The students can also stay in individually rented or shared apartments or rooms.
Other Facilities
There is a rich library with a collection of 21,000 publications and nearly 300 periodicals. Besides the school also have five computer rooms, a Catia room (CAD/CAM) for the benefit of the students. There is also a Language centre meant for improving the language skills of the students.
