On January 1, 2007, the University of Provence accommodated a new component, the University Institute of Training of the Masters of the academy of Aix - Marseilles (IUFM).
Academic Courses
- Five years a university course
DEUG (or another diploma vat + 2) and Preprofessionnalisation
(Lesson ensured by the universities in order to give a first contact with the trade)
- Licence (or another diploma are equivalent)
- Admission with the IUFM (First year: Student)
- Preparation the contest proof
- To ensure a first approach of the trade
- Contest of recruitment (Second year: Trainee teacher)
- Vocational training (training courses of responsibility and training courses in company for some)
- Validation (the IUFM validates the training of its pupils)
- Establishment - Assignment
Academic jurys come to a conclusion about
- the delivery of the DPPE (professor of the schools)
- the examination of occupational qualification and establishment (professors of the colleges and colleges)

- CRPE: Contest of Recruitment of Professors of the Schools.
- CAPES: Certificate of Aptitude for the Professorship of the Secondary education.
