UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF FORMATION OF THE MAITRES - CRETEIL is a publicly-owned establishment of higher education and research

The IUFM of the academy of Creteil trains each year approximately 1900 first-year students, 2700 trainee teachers and 120 professors specialized in the fields of the school adaptation and the schooling of the pupils in situation of handicap.

The IUFM (Institut Universitaire de la Formation des Maîtres) of the Académie de Créteil (regional education authority) is a state-run university institution focusing on preparing students to teach in primary schools (concours de recrutement des professeurs des ecoles) as well as in secondary schools (Key stages 3 and 4), Sixth Form, (CAPES, CAPET) and vocational schools.

IUFM-Creteil offers courses at postgraduate level, since a Bachelor Degree is a must to take the exam to avail of the training organized by the IUFM (Institut Universitaire de Formation des Maitres).
