Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble

Grenoble IT trains dynamic, innovative engineers in 11 high-technical areas and pays particular attention to future job prospects. Grenoble IT also aims to provide research for innovative technologies Grenoble IT's ambitious research policy is embodied in the 6 industrial clusters and it is also involved with locally-based companies. The rich years of experience, has enabled Grenoble IT to monitor and anticipate society's technical, scientific and social changes, creating dynamic spin-off companies and developing the technologies of tomorrow. It has a leading role in 2 industrial clusters: Minalogic, focusing on micro and nanotechnologies and software and Tenerrdis in the renewable energy industry.

The Institute is divided into different schools:

EFPG: materials and papermaking and printing processes
ENSEEG: materials, electrochemistry, process engineering
ENSERG: electronics and IT
ENSGI: industrial engineering
ENSHMG: fluids, mechanics and the environment
ENSIEG: energy and information processing
ENSIMAG: IT and applied mathematics
ENSPG: applied physics and nuclear engineering
ESISAR: embedded industrial systems
International Master
NANOTECH: micro et nanotechnologies
TELECOM: IT, telecommunications, electronics

The degrees that are offered are:
1. Engineering Degrees—The Institute has 11 different Engineering Degrees
2. Degrees
a) Degree in "Digital streaming, publishing and printing"

In conjunction with the printing industry, INP Grenoble launched the professional degree in "Digital streaming, publishing and print production" in 2002.
b) Laurea dell'Informazione Franco-Italiana
The LIFI, or Franco-Italian Degree, is an accredited information and communication technology (ICT) course. Its curriculum is jointly run by INP Grenoble and the Politecnico di Torino, as part of the Franco-Italian academic corporation program.

3. 10 Masters—some of them are:

  • Masters in chemistry
  • Masters in earth, universe and environmental sciences (STUE)
  • Masters in electronics, electrical engineering, automation and signal processing (EEATS)
  • Masters in health and medical engineering (ISM)
  • Masters in information, cognition and learning (ICA)

4. Doctorate Degrees
The Institute believes in the mixing of diffeent cultures so the campus has more than 30 clubs and societies participating in various events. The Student House is the hub od student life. Residences : the Houille Blanche Hall of Residence accommodates many students on the campus.


Resource Centre : INP Grenoble owns state-of-the-art facilities distributed in various research laboratories, as well as some major experimental facilities which is based in its own dedicated structures and are available for businesses.

Some of the Resources for the technological development projects are:
1. CIME (intervarsity microelectronics center)
2. CMTC (shared technological resource consortium)
3. CREMHyG (Grenoble hydraulic machinery research and test centre
