Universite du Quebec established in 1969, was previously known as the Center University Studies of Rimouski and is well known for two of its programs—marine biology and oceanography. The programs and courses carry a distinctive and multidisciplinary flavor which makes it popular amongst both local and international students. The total course is divided into two major cycles known as the first cycle and the higher cycle.
The library has a huge collection of 24,000 documents with 117 French speaking periodicals in social sciences. The housing on the campus count 65 furnished apartments to accommodate 270 full time students.
