Quebec is a Canadian province in Eastern Canada. By area, Quebec is the largest province and the second-largest administrative division in Canada; the Quebec education system is governed by the Ministère de l'education du Quebec (Ministry of Education of Quebec).
Most undergraduate university degrees in Quebec universities are only three years in length for Quebec students who have obtained a CEGEP diploma. University education is much like in other North American jurisdictions. In addition to private institutions, the government of Quebec has a network of universities in several Quebec cities, called the Universite du Quebec.
Quebec subsidizes post-secondary and controls tuition fees, resulting in a low student costs in university education. There are three levels of tuition: Quebec resident (lowest level), Out-of-province Canadian resident (tuition set to average Canadian tuition) and International tuition (highest).
Montreal has four universities, and a greater percentage of their population is students than in any other large city in North America
