Established in 1955, the institute was originally situated in Yaletown, but later shifted in the neighborhood of Vancouver, this college is famous as a publicly-funded post- secondary institute and is known as Canada's First Nations College.
The institute offers various programs to the students which include different subjects and discipline:

- First Nations Studies

- Not-for-profit Management

- Wildlife Management
Apart from these courses the institute also offers the courses in

- Liberal Arts and Humanities. The institute has different requirements for students who do not have English as the first language. They are required to take the course on ESL.
