Established in 1916, and known as North America's premier publicly funded post secondary technical institute the SAIT is now located in Calgary, Alberta.
SAIT offers a range of courses:

- Apprenticeship Programs
- 15 Pre-employment Programs
- 1,200 Continuing education courses
The institute has 7 departments. The fee-structure varies and both on-campus and off campus accommodation are available. However the off campus housing is provided by the Students' Association. The well-equipped library, technology labs, Corporate Training Centre, Learning Skills Centre helps the students immensely. Workshops are organized, co-curricular activities are encouraged through various clubs like the Rock Climbing Club, Rodeo Club, and Rugby Club is encouraged. Job Fair is organized every year for campus recruitment. There are 2 affiliated institutes like the British Columbia Institute if Technology (BCIT) and the Northern Institute of Technology (NAIT). Different scholarships are available for the in-house and international students.
