The history of athletic achievements of the South Eastern Conference or the
Sec conference has covered 74 glorious years. With perhaps the brightest tradition of intercollegiate competition the Sec Conference has its headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama. One of the most successful conferences, both on the field and financially, Sec Conference has been leading all the other Conferences consistently. In athletic competitions, the Sec Conference participates in the NAAC's Division I and is also a part of the Division I Football Bowl Subdivision.
The Sec conference is mainly divided into two geographic divisions, the Western Division and the Eastern Division. In nine South Eastern States, the Sec Conference presently has twelve member institutions and the geographic domain of the Sec Conference spreads from Arkansas to South Carolina and from Kentucky to Florida.
