After celebrating its 25th anniversary as an NCAA Division I athletic conference last year, the North east Conference marked its next phase towards its growth with the appointment of Brenda Weare as the a league's new Commissioner on august 1, 2006. The North East conference has exposed extensively on a National basis has televised almost 115 events which were covered internationally. Most of the North east Conference teams have worldwide recognition.29 NEC student athletes have been named to ESPN, the magazine Academic All District teams. The success story of North east conference has always been a boosting connotation for the sports section of other nations.
