International Bridge Conference deals extensively and exclusively with the bridge industries situated in Asia, Europe and North America. International Bridge Conference celebrated its 25th anniversary in June 2007. The
International Bridge Conference was held in between 2-4 June at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania. The Engineers' Society of Western Pennsylvania acts as the organizer of the International Bridge Conference.
Bridge owners and engineers, government officials, senior policy makers, construction executives and suppliers from all over the world come to attend the International Bridge Conference every year. There were about 1200 members who attend the conference. The number of countries that participated actively in the
International Bridge Conference in the year 2006, included 47 states from 15 countries all over the world. The conference includes presentation on different aspects of bridge building or importance of bridges were made by several participants in their own way.
The
International Bridge Conference not only confers on the experts talk on the issue but also encourages students participation. A Bridge Award and Student Award is given to the most eligible person or organization which excels in the technical aspects in bridge engineering.
International Bridge Conference is again scheduled to be held in the year 2009. Co-sponsors along with the Engineers' Society of Western Pennsylvania have always supported and encouraged the organization of the event so as to come up with better technology and ideas in bridge building.
