Big Sky conference enters its 45th year of athletic participation in 2007-08. Big Sky conference is an NCAA Division I members league comprising on almost all the possible sports, it has its member institutions compiling into 9 teams.
One of the strongest League of Division I Conferences, it has Eastern Washington, Idaho state, Montana, Northern Arizona, Colorado, Portland state, Sacramento State and Weber state. This League is a national leader in The Football Championship Sub-division. Of which the first 6 charter members were Idaho, Montana, Montana State, Weber State, Gonzaga and Idaho state.
The
Big Sky conference organizes 14 sports. Men's and Woman's Cross Country, Indoor and Outdoor track and field, basketball and tennis are some of them. They also conduct championships in football and women's volleyball, along with golf and soccer.
Established in 1963, the
Big Sky conference is located in the western United States. Their headquarters are at Ogden and Utah. On July 1,1970 Big Sky conference experienced its first expansion with the inclusion of Boise State University and North Arizona University to form a 8 member League. In 1987 Eastern Washington was joined to this League to create the first version of a 9 member Big sky conference.
Big Sky Conference has established itself internationally as the strongest foundation League. The historic records of this League has been much adored by sports personalities throughout.
