Gateway Computers
Gateway Computers is a computer hardware organization situated in Irvine within California. Gateway Computers is a global company which not only manufactures computers but even develops computer monitors, servers and accessories. Gateway Computers today is listed within the Fortune 500 Company and is rated as one of the Top Computer Manufacturing Companies.
In 1991 Gateway became popular as the company delivered their computer hardware products through ships that too within cow-spotted boxes. The company Gateway was established on September 5, 1985, along a farm in Sioux City, Iowa. The company was developed under Ted Waitt and Mike Hammond. Initially the company was known as Gateway 2000. By 1989, Gateway shifted its production offices to North Sioux City in South Dakota. Later on, the company removed "2000" from its tag.
Gateway has presently outsourced its process and especially deals with customer support. In 2002, Gateway basically dealt with consumer electronics products like digital cameras, DLP projectors, plasma screen TVs, wireless internet routers and MP3 players.

It opened Gateway Configuration Center in Nashville in Tennessee in the month of September 2006. Dell, Hewlett Packard, Apple Inc., Lenovo, Sony and Toshiba are some of the main competitors of Gateway Incorporates.
