The MIT Laboratory for Computer Science one of the world famous Computer Science research Institutes, which had begun its journey as Project MAC. This research institute deals with both the computational models as well as artificial intelligence. Origin of MIT Laboratory for Computer Science
The MIT Laboratory for Computer Science started as the Project MAC in MIT in the 1st of July 1963. Fano, Fernando J. Corbato, and Marvin Minsky were the founder members of the project and it was started with a granting of 2 million dollars. Its aim was to create a utility of computer, which can be developed as a trustworthy source of computational process. The Project MAC was rechristened considering the success of the project and also the step it took to make more breakthrough innovations. This includes the development of one of the most important tools of modern lives, the internet.
The CSAIL department was included in the MIT Laboratory for Computer Science in the year 2003 on the 1st of July.
