Input and output is a set of interfaces which are used by separate sub-systems or functional units of a main system that deals with information processing. These interfaces are used to correspond with one another. The inputs receive signals in the form of inputs and send it out in the form of outputs. Input and output is an important aspect of computers functioning .
BIOS or Basic Input Output System:
BIOS is a software in the computer and it determines the function of the computer when it does not access any program from a disk. For a computer the BIOS possesses all the codes which are needed for controlling the display screen, keyboard, serial communications, disk drives and many other mixed functions. Input and output in case of this is usually kept on a ROM chip of the computer. Modern computers have Flash BIOS in which the BIOS stays stored on a distinct flash memory chip. One can also update it when needed. Apart from the “operating system” and the “applications”, BIOS is another kind of software which is required by the computer in order to achieve success in its operations.
Input and Output Devices :
For a computer the main input devices are mouse and keyboards and the output devices are printers and scanners. Certain devices like network cards and modems are communication devices meant for both input and output .

The central part of the computer is the complex formed by the CPU and the main memory combined together. Any kind of passage of information to or from that combination is called input and output .
