Kia Cerato/Spectra
Kia Cerato/Spectra
The Kia Cerato/Spectra is a small family car that was introduced into the market at the start of the new millennium by Kia Motors, a Korean carmaker. The car is known as the Kia Spectra in North America and Kia Cerato outside North America.
When Kia Cerato/Spectra was originally launched, it was just a facelift of the old Kia Sephia and Kia Shuma. Thereafter, the Kia Cerato/Spectra underwent an ostensible overhauling in its design to resemble a smaller version of a limousine. Elegant body structures and fenders of the new model underscore the strategic thinking that has facilitated in upgrading the older version into an outrageously sleek looking model. The visual appeal of the car springs from its boldly designed grille that is somewhat similar to the grilles of Mercedes-Benz and Saab. Angular polycarbonate lens headlights and flush-mounted fog lamps add to the daring appearance of the car.

Some features of the Kia Cerato/Spectra:
- Puffed up arches at each of the barriers that encompass the wheels to obstruct splashing water or dirt
- A low, jaunty looking pillar to give it an athletic and sports-car look.
- A typical hinged trunk especially for the Cerato/Spectra four door version.
- A spacious body that allows comfortable room for the chauffeur and the riders.
- State-of-the-art plastic surfaces to make the interior of the car look glamorous and provide more aesthetic value to its passengers than what its cost should permit.
- Sophisticated stereo and navigation equipments
- Chauffeur and rider airbags.
Engines: The car is operated by 2.0 liter inline-four engines that generate 143 horsepower and 137 lb-ft of torque. These engines are capable of pushing speed limits of the car to 129 mph. Different versions of the car are also operable by common-rail turbodiesel engines of 1.5 liters and 2.0 liters capacities. The 2.0 liter turbodiesel engine generates a horsepower of 113.
The Kia Cerato four-door version costs approximately $18000.
