Introduction The Mitsubishi L200 is a compact medium pickup truck produced by Mitsubishi Motors. The L200 name prevails in the European market, but in Japan it has been replaced by the name Triton. Manufacturer The Mitsubishi L200 pickup trucks are manufactured by the Mitsubishi Motors. History The Mitsubishi L200 first came into the market in 1978. It is now called as Mitsubishi Triton. Originally it was the Mitsubishi Forte in Japan from 1978 to 1986, and the Mitsubishi L200 in export markets. But in 1986, the Forte name was discontinued in Japan when a second generation of the truck was introduced in favor of the L200. The Triton name was introduced in Australia and New Zealand. The third generation was designed by Akinori Nakanishi.It was the first model built in Thailand, and is exported to 140 global markets.
