This 2-seat Gran Tourismo model replaced the 575 Maranello in 2007. It first made its appearance in Geneva Motor Show in 2006. Designed by Pininfarina under the direction of Frank Stephenson this was renamed because of the engine displacement and because of the Gran Tourismo Berlinetta and Fiorano test track used by Ferrari.
