A Grand Tourer or more commonly known as GT is an automobile with matchless performance especially for long distance driving. Any such car can be regarded as a grand tourer but usually the traditional and most familiar body style is the coupe (2-door) with either a 2-seat or 2+2 seat arrangement. Though the Grand Tourers are somewhat similar to sports car like they usually use rear or 4-wheel drive but they come with a difference. These cars are usually larger and heavier (sometimes more than 3,500 lb) with spirited front mounted engines that offer exhilarating ride while enhanced suspension provides a precise, sporty driving experience. The Grand Tourers are powered by 5.7L to 6 L V12 engines with 6-speed automatic or manual transmission. The very high performance delivered by Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano and the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren gives them the title of super cars. | |
