Rolls-Royce Limited
Introduction:
A partnership between Henry Royce and C.S. Rolls resulted in the formation of Rolls-Royce Limited in 1906. Rolls-Royce Limited is a British car and aero-engine manufacturing company. In 1971 the development of advanced RB211 jet engine halted the growth of Rolls-Royce Limited which led to the nationalization of the company followed by separation of the car division from the main company as Rolls-Royce Motors. In 1987, Rolls-Royce Limited was privatized as Rolls-Royce plc.
The current car division which manufactures only cars is known as Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. Founded in 1998, it is now a subsidiary of BMW AG.
