Arcelor is a popular steel brand company and stands in the second position as far as steel output is concerned. Arcelor is r ecognized as the world's largest steel producer which gives huge turnover and returns. The registered office of Arcelor is in Luxembourg, with its headquarters based in Avenue de la Liberté. Arcelor Company was formed by merging of corporate companies like Aceralia (Spain), Usinor (France) and Arbed (Luxembourg) in 2002.

It was on 25 June 2006, Arcelor joined hands with Mittal Steel Company, which was ultimately branded as Arcelor Mittal. Present day, Arcelor Mittal stands as a prime steel company, employing almost 320,000 people in about 60 countries.

Arcelor plays a major role in segments like automotive, construction, metal processing, primary transformation, household appliances, packaging, and general industry.

With a sales ratio of over €30 billion, Arcelor manufactures products made of long steel, flat steel and inox-steel. During January 2006, Arcelor acquired Dofasco, the largest steel producer in Canada.

The production sites of flat steel products are Piombino, Liège, Florange, Bremen, Ghent-Zelzate, Dunkirk, Avilés, Gijón, Fos-sur-Mer, Eisenhüttenstadt and in São Francisco do Sul in Brazil.

Arcelor deals with sectors like Flat Carbon Steel, Long Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel and Arcelor Steel Solutions & Services.

The signature of Arcelor Steel is “Steel solutions for man and earth" whereby the company promotes the steel not only in different varieties but even with value added services to suit its client's requirements.
