Headquartered in the city of Bentonville in Arkansas in USA, Wal Mart Stores began in the year 1962, in Rogers, in the State of Arkansas. Founded by Sam Walton as “Wal-Mart Discount City”, Wal Mart Store found its way into the New York Stock Exchange by the fall of 1969, on 31st of October.

Today, not just is Wal Mart Store the largest in the retail division in India, Wal Mart Store has found its way into other countries and continents too; just that it is known by different names. For example, in the United Kingdom, Wal Mart Store operates under the name of ASDA, and in Japan, as The Seiyu Co. Ltd, and as Walmex in Mexico.
