Kmart

One of the most popular retail brands, Kmart is in fact a chain of emporium stores located primarily in the Puerto Rico, United States, Guam and so on. Kmart is a very famous retail brand and is considered as one of the leading companies in the whole world. Very recently, in 2005, the brand of Kmart commingled with another very famous retail brand company named Sears and they jointly built the Sears Holdings Corporation.

Kmart is no more limited in its boundaries. Rather Kmart has now expanded its limits to several other countries in the world such as Australia, New Zealand and many other countries in various corners of the world. There it is popular as Kmart Australia. The Brand Kmart has also become a very powerful rival for the world famous brand names such as Wal-Mart, Target and some other brands as well.

To talk about the origin of the retail brand Kmart, it opened its first retail store in the year of 1962. That store was launched in the Garden City in Michigan. And the most interesting point is that, the first store of that day is still there in its full active status. The store is very popular even today.

Now Kmart has various super markets in its store as well. However, the first super market of Kmart was established in the year 1991, in Medina, Ohio. This supermarket was built in a very big area (about 147,000 square foot area). Still now it is very popular.
