French Laundry , one of the finest restaurants in the world is situated in California, Yountville and Napa Valley. It is owned by the far-famed chef Thomas Keller and offers impressive décor, lovely ambience and sumptuous food that surely satisfies a gourmet's palate. Throughout its past the restaurant had been so famous that many Presidents and celebrities have also visited it. History -The restaurant building is a solid structure of 1600 square foot made from river rock and timber in the 1900 by a Scottish stone mason. It was fist owned by Pierre Guillaume who later sold it. In 1920, a man named John Lande it as a French Steam Laundry. The edifice was refurbished and made into a restaurant in 1978 by the mayor of Yountville. Layer in 1994, the famous chef Thomas Keller purchased the property and named it French Laundry restaurant. Menus- Three types of menu consisting of prix fixe menu, tasting menu and vegetable tasting menu are offered by the French Laundry restaurant . Apart from these special menus are offered exclusively during the season of holiday. Tasting menus include five to eleven dishes along with some optional courses. Normally an assortment of contemporary American food influenced by French culinary art is served in seven or nine courses. The ingredients are fresh and hand-picked from the private garden of French Laundry . Recommended Dishes – The French Laundry offers innovative cuisines with strange names. Some of the lip-smacking signature-dishes of the famous restaurant include-
Oysters and Pearls , Surf and Turf , Peas and Carrots and Coffee and Doughnuts and so on. Reservations- The French Laundry accepts reservation for two months. The reservation line remains open from 10 a.m. to 5.30 p.m(Pacific Time).The entire restaurant can accommodate a maximum of 62 people and can also reserved for private parties.
