Named after its founder and owner, Charlie Trotter's is a brand of restaurant that belongs to Charlie Trotter, a chef from Chicago. Trained at the California Culinary Academy in Florida and also having quite a reputed stint in Europe, Charlie Trotter established his signature restaurant for the first time in the city of Chicago. Charlie Trotter himself is known for several other reasons – apart from the culinary ones – ranging from the political to the authorial. For that matter, Trotter has even made a guest appearance in the Hollywood blockbuster “My Best Friend's Wedding”.

History of Charlie Trotter's :

Opened in 1987, the first Charlie Trotter's restaurant was opened in the city of Chicago by none other than Trotter himself. Having been in service for 20 years now, Charlie Trotter's has a takeaway outlet in Chicago too called the “Trotter's To Go”, which was opened in the year 2000. The Charlie Trotter's is also renowned for its exclusive and extensive wine collection too. In the year 1995, the restaurant crossed another milestone when the Relais & Chateaux hotel brand initiated the Charlie Trotter's into their properties. Then in 1998, Charlie Trotter's was awarded the membership of “Traditions & Qualité”. Since then it has been quite a spate of awards.

Received 10 awards from the James Beard Foundation.

Declared an ‘Outstanding Restaurant' in 2000.

Named as ‘America's Best Restaurant' in 2000.
