Vodafone or Vodafone Group plc is one of the leading electronics brands in the present marketing business. The headquarters of Vodafone is located in Newbury in Berkshire in England. Vodafone is a mobile network company and this telecommunication network is also the largest in the world.
The name “Vodafone” has derived from the words “Voice data fone”. The name suggests that Vodafone provides several voice and data services to the mobile phones. Vodafone has expanded its networks in 33 countries still now.
Vodafone has spread its ten million proportionate customers in six grand markets and the list includes Germany, United Kingdom, Italy, the United States of America, Turkey and Spain.
Since Vodafone is a very successful electronic brand, it has to face tough competition with several strong companies. In Albania, Vodafone has one local competitor and it is AMC or Albanian Mobile Communications. It is a Tirana based electronic brand. On the other hand, in Australia Vodafone has many competitors namely Optus, Telstra, 3, Virgin Mobile and so on. However, in Fiji, Vodafone has no competitor.
In 2005, Vodafone Group announced that it has signed an agreement with the famous Mexico based América Móvil. Some international services like Voice and GPRS roaming services are included in this agreement.
Then again in the year 2007, Vodafone made a partnership agreement with the world famous electronic brand Digicel Group. The aim was to offer various roaming facilities. Vodafone has gradually spread its brand in various corners of the world. The brand Vodafone is present in total 81 places including various countries, territories and regions.
