Historical fiction for kids or Historical fantasy for kids is one kind of fantasy which is related to historical fiction or is set in a historical background. The stories are set in a specific historical period but some elements of fantasy are added. Magical and mythical elements are added to the world of historical fiction .
In some stories magic withdraws itself from the world of historical fiction to allow history to continue as it is recorded like The Charwoman's Shadow by Lord Dunsany .
