CLASSIC FAIRY TALES

Almost all fairy tales have been considered as classic fairy tales . Stories beginning with “ Once Upon A Time ” generally remind us of fairy tales. These are fairy tales have been narrated by mothers and grandmothers since ages for entertaining children. Fairy tales are fantasized stories on fairies, ghosts, monsters, magicians, elves, goblins and many created animals. No one can say which the first fairy tale was. Fairy tales have captivated children's heart since centuries. Though children have become more scientific in their approach and thinking, still their liking for fairy tales has not ended.

Fairy tales were written mostly for children but the number of adult reader is not insignificant. Fairy tales never have any references with religion. The places, events and persons are totally framed.

We cannot ignore the fact that fairy tales do more than just entertaining. Some message is always conveyed through fairy tales. When we talk about a talking bird in fairy tale it is understood that nature wants to speak something .In fairy tales witches and demons portray the negative characters of life and fairies reflect the positive shades of life

. Some Classic Fairy tales include

  • Sleeping Beauty by Judith Ivory This is a story of beautiful prince and seven dwarfs. In this tale the dwarfs protect a beautiful princess form the cruelty of their step mom
  • Cinderella This is a story of poor little girl who is tortured by her step mom and stepsisters till she finds her prince charming

  • The Little Mermaid by Hans Christian Anderson In this fairy tale the life of a mermaid and her fantasies about the real world are illustrated.
  • The Frog Prince by Jane Porter This is a tale where a prince is cursed and changed into a frog. The prince gets back his original form after being kissed by a princess.
  • The Ugly Duckling by Hans Christian Anderson The pain and shame of a young duckling for being ugly is beautifully narrated.

In today's fast life children are very busy but reading fairy tales has never been ignored by them.
