Cheap Books have two diverse meanings. Firstly ‘cheap’ can mean those books which are sold at low cost. Secondly, cheap books can also mean low quality of books, books which are tasteless and does not suits one’s choice and preferences.
Books which are sold at low prices do not always mean their market value is low. Some books are deliberately marked at low price so that readers can get easy access to them and they are easily available in the market. These kind of cheap books are launched in the book market by religious institutions, political parties, government bodies and similar other institutions. The reason for launching these cheap books is advertisement of their ideas, views, thoughts, policies or visions of such institutions. Sometimes texts books of schools and colleges are marked at cheap prices by the government for promotion of education so that these books can be purchased conveniently by the students.
Other kinds of low-cost books are those books which have low demands in the market. The reason of low demands can either be their odd subject matter, outdated theme or may be there are better and more comprehensive books in market on same subject.
Low quality books are also called cheap books. These kinds of books are not the favorites among the masses. They have no remarkable ideas or thoughts to convey, that is to say no food for thought. Besides, these cheap books can be of poor standards of writing.
There are other kinds of cheap books like discounted books, banned books, used books, old books and out of print books.
